Cursing – Does it Hinder the Cause for Liberty?

There was some controversy a few weeks ago over the language being used by Adam Kokesh during his show “Adam VS The Man“. So lets get straight to the question.

Does cursing hinder the cause for Liberty? Tell us what you think by voting in our poll at libertychat.com or by commenting on this post.

While the U.S. Bombs & Rebuilds Caves in the Middle East, China Expands Military Power

    Posted on by IanCioffi

China continues it’s military expansion, with plans to grow its military budget by 11.2 percent this year. China has also increased its cyber attacks on the U.S., stealing valuable technology while modernizing it’s military. All this while the U.S. focuses on “rebuilding” Afghanistan for the next decade.

The U.S. Military has literally turned it’s back on China, to focus the bulk of it’s resources on flushing out “terrorists” in the middle east. Let’s put the “war on terror” into perspective.

On 9/11 3000+ people were killed/injured. Three buildings were brought down in NYC & the Pentagon was damaged. Nearly 11 years later, we’ve invaded, demolished, and still occupy two countries. We killed the mastermind of 9/11. We Killed/injured millions of Iraqis/Afghanis. Don’t you think we’re even? Can we maybe start to focus our resources on more realistic threats? Like our never ending national debt. Which oh by the way, is funded by China.

Did the Associated Press Shake Down the U.S. Government?

    Posted on by IanCioffi

The story of the foiling of an underwear-bomb plot back on May 7th was broken by the Associated Press, much to the displeasure of the U.S. Government. I have no problem with a news outlet reporting the news, even if it upsets government officials. However, the AP was actually willing to withhold the information, if the government gave into their demands.

The U.S. government did not want this news released because it would reveal the deeper story behind it, which was the “underwear bomber” was really a double agent. Releasing this news would jeopardize the government’s efforts in infiltrating Al-Qaeda.

According to government officials, the AP agreed to delay the story, so long as the U.S. government waited one full hour before commenting on the story, when it was eventually released.

This isn’t even about a news agency “standing their ground” and reporting the news despite what the government told them. This is about the AP trying to maximize the traffic to their website & affiliate’s websites before other outlets could quote the U.S. Government & make the story their own. Only because the AP didn’t get what they wanted, did they release their story without delay.

According to the U.S. Government, because the AP went through with the story early, they had to cancel their operation and lost vital information that they could have gained with more time.

The AP truly showed what it’s really about with these actions. This news agency continues its downgrade, and cannot be trusted to provide you with unfiltered news.

Adam Kokesh Accuses Jesse Benton of Cheating

    Posted on by IanCioffi

I was watching another installment of “Adam VS The Man” when one of Adam’s comments about Jesse Benton caught me by surprise. Adam accused Jesse of cheating on an old g/f, with current wife Valori Pyeatt. It’s a significant claim because Valori is Ron Paul’s granddaughter.

We contacted Adam asking if he could verify his claim. He said he “found out from a reliable source who worked for Ron Paul’s 2008 campaign.”

This kind of news would normally belong on TMZ but we thought it was newsworthy because it’s signaling a major escalation in the feud between Adam & Jesse. Also, information like this is often looked for & exploited by other campaigns.

Maybe this is Adam’s response to Jesse’s recent comment “Mr. Kokesh is a deeply troubled individual with whom we cut off contact a long time ago”. That quote came following a controversial episode of “Adam VS The Man” where Adam reads an email on air which suggested assassinating Mitt Romney could solve our political problems.

So I guess the question is, did Adam take it too far? Was it fair game given that Jesse is a public figure?

We put that question up as a poll on libertychat.com . Let us know what you think. You can also let us know by commenting on this thread.

A Look at Who Might Lead a “Post Paul” Revolution

    Posted on by IanCioffi

A Pros/Cons look at possible leaders for the Revolution, once Ron Paul retires.
Feel free to add your own choices in the comments section, these were just the first few that came to mind.

Rand PaulPros- Rand has the financial power needed to organize the grassroots. He also has the contact lists gained from his father, so he can easily reach everyone in the Liberty movement. He’s a voice for Liberty in the Senate and will likely have Ron Paul’s endorsement, if Ron Paul were to ever suggest a new “leader” for the movement.
Cons – His ability to work with the Republican Establishment, something his father was unable to do, has made some in the liberty movement uneasy. Voting for sanctions on Iran, and controversial comments regarding Guantanamo Bay, have helped to divide the movement on how they feel about Rand.

Tom WoodsPros – Very smart & witty. Good with debates. Many wish Ron Paul had the ability to articulate the message of Liberty the way Tom Woods can. There was even a petition to make Tom Woods Ron Paul’s debate coach. Has the financial strength to be able to organize the grassroots. Very popular in the Liberty movement.
Cons- Not willing to run for office. Likely wouldn’t want the responsibility of being dubbed “leader”. Already busy with many projects.

Adam Kokesh- Pros- Knows how to lead. A military veteran, Adam has built a huge following on his “hold nothing back” approach to discussing liberty. Has experience running for office. Has the financial strength to organize the grassroots. Energetic. Can excite the movement and has the ability to rally the grassroots to events.
Cons- To some, Adam’s style is offensive. Some believe when Adam smokes weed live during a show or curses, he “hurts” the movement as a whole.

Judge Napolitano- Pros- Name recognition thanks to his time at FOX Business & Fox News. He has appeal beyond the Liberty movement, while remaining very popular within it. Has the financial strength to organize the grassroots. Can be a regular voice for the movement on national airwaves.
Cons- Not very close with the grassroots. Trying to reach him is tough. Trying to get him to appear at local grassroots events is costly.

Austin Petersen- Pros- Judge Napolitano’s right hand man, Austin has been a trusted friend of the Judge & produced his show “Freedom Watch”. Has the experience of dealing with the “establishment” while working on Freedom Watch. A social media pro, Austin Has made popular videos in support of Ron Paul. Has an extensive political resume, working with the Libertarian Party and the Tea Party group “Freedom Works”.
Cons- Name recognition. Not as well known as the choices above.

Commentary on Comments – Time.com Compiles comments from Ron Paul Supporters

    Posted on by IanCioffi

    From Time.com By ADAM SORENSEN

Most people have hobbies: golf, model trains, restoring old cars, whatever. A year after Ron Paul announced his Republican presidential bid, I have concluded that his supporters must not do these things. They can’t possibly have the time. While others are at rest or at play, Paul’s supporters are on the Internet, googling his name and diving into the comments sections of news articles to register their opinions. Maybe it’s a measure of their dedication or their web savvy, or both. I don’t know. But they always show up, sometimes 500 or 600 in force or more. And since they often complain about the media giving their guy short shrift, I thought I’d give them a chance to tell Paul’s story, now that it’s in its last chapter. (There, the media just did it again.) What follows is a collection of comments, culled from TIME’s archive, that span the epoch of Ron Paul 2012.

April 2011: As Paul begins to examine another presidential campaign, his supporters take to the comments section to lay out the stakes of the election in stark terms:

America has a choice. Complete collapse, or elect Ron Paul for president. -Athan

clowns on the left, jokers to the right….the 2 party failure is over / vote a libertarian into office and see what a president should do. -JHOWA

June 2011: Ron is running. TIME interviews him about his third presidential candidacy. His supporters are riding high.

Ron Paul speaking is what freedom sounds like, he is the real deal. -Glugzy

The “dark horse” candidate speaks (and votes) good, common “horse” sense…Dr. Paul has my vote, support and prayers. I even have his bumper sticker on my car—a first for me! Go Ron Paul and clean house! :)  -Elizabeth

Former Freedom Watch Producer Austin Petersen Slams Ron Paul’s National Campaign, Offers his Leadership for 2016

    Posted on by IanCioffi

Austin Petersen has broken his silence regarding his opinion of how things have been run so far by Ron Paul’s national campaign. The most recent press release coming from the campaign was what sparked these comments from Austin…

“I’ve held my tongue on this for long enough now but this was just a dumb ass blunder. You shouldn’t send out a press release that confuses not only the national media but all your supporters as well.”

“Listen the reality is the national Presidential campaign never did anything of much use anyway. It was mostly the grassroots organizing. So we just have to continue what we’ve been doing. Freaking amateurs man.”

Austin goes on to offer up his leadership going forward…

“Calling all libertarians who want 2016 to be all-pro. No amateurs. I’ll be rallying the troops from here. Please join me if you’re serious about taking our liberties back.”

    Analyzing Jesse Benton’s Email

    Posted on by IanCioffi

“Finally, by sending a large, respectful, and professional delegation to Tampa, we will show the party and the country that not only is our movement growing and here to stay, but that the future belongs to us.” – Jesse Benton

What is Jesse Benton trying to say, when he says “respectful and professional”?

My interpretation is this. Jesse has started the process of trying to make sure the delegates “behave” at the convention in Tampa. If the delegates boo Romney on stage and make a scene, it might hurt Rand Paul’s future by labeling the Paul name as “party spoiler”.

Imagine for a second CNN/FOX/MSNBC covering the national convention. Romney is announced to the stage. Just as he begins his speech you begin to hear a cheer in the background. “Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul”. The cheer is getting louder and louder till finally Romney has no choice but to address the chants at an attempt to appease the Ron Paul delegates. He says something like “Ron Paul put up a good fight” and then tries to continue. The delegates not satisfied with that continue the chants. Louder this time.

You now have the CNN/FOX/MSNBC hosts having no choice but to address what’s happening. It would be a complete embarrassment for the GOP. All the Liberal news outlets’ morning headlines will read “GOP divided at convention.” The Conservative headlines will read “Paul supporters sabotage convention.” The blame game would begin and Ron Paul would receive the “Nader” treatment.

The thing I believe Jesse Benton & John Tate fear, is Rand Paul would also receive the “Nader” treatment, and would be blackballed by the party, getting none of his proposals passed.

So will the Ron Paul delegates be willing to “behave” at the convention? I’m not sure, but we have a poll up at libertychat.com that asks that question. “Will you boo Romney even if Ron Paul asks you not to?” The voting has just begun, but if the early results play out, it’s a split decision.

List of Childish Behavior Shown by GOP Establishment at State Conventions

    Posted on by IanCioffi

Doug Wead took the time to list some of the childish behavior going on at the Republican state conventions. You can read the entire article here

    The List:

-The establishment turned off the air conditioning at the Arizona State GOP Convention last weekend, trying to sweat the Ronulans into leaving.

-In Oklahoma they pulled out a ballroom divider to cordon off Ron Paul supporters and shut them out of participation. Later they turned out the lights. Voice votes that were clearly lost were declared won.

-In Carson County, Nevada they turned off a microphone when a Hispanic tried to speak, they knew that Hispanics were for Ron Paul.

-In Minnesota they told their people not to vote for any delegate under the age of fifty.

-In Alaska, they defeated the majority by retaining the committee which “interpreted rules” and later, after taking the delegation, reluctantly gave up the party control to the new majority but transferred all of the money out of the Republican Party accounts.

-In Virginia, at a District Convention, they coaxed the Ron Paul delegation outside and then locked the door. The pastor of the church that was hosting the event was, himself, locked outside.

-In Missouri they had all the delegates sign up at County Conventions and then had their County Chairman take the rolls outside and lock them in their car trunks so they could block roll call voting and have their chairman declare lost voice votes as won. At another convention delegates were arrested.

Did the Ron Paul Campaign Finally Get What They Wanted from Romney?

    Posted on by IanCioffi

For those who haven’t been closely watching the delegate process, Ron Paul has been shocking the GOP establishment by racking up the majority of delegates in states like Iowa, Nevada, Maine & many more. Ron Paul has all but guaranteed himself a nomination on the floor at the GOP Convention in Tampa.

With so much momentum, why would the Ron Paul campaign suddenly send out an email, declaring they stopped trying to win primaries but will continue the hunt for delegates at state conventions? Didn’t the majority of Ron Paul supporters know this was the plan? Didn’t Ron Paul basically say on national television that “primaries are nice, but delegates are the name of the game”?

So why write a mass email that will obviously be picked up by the MSM and taken out of context? Is this the continuation of what has been rumored to be going on? Did the Ron Paul campaign finally get what they wanted from the Romney campaign and are just not telling their supporters yet?

A poll recently posted at libertychat.com asked Ron Paul delegates “would you vote for Romney if Ron Paul asked you to?” 91% said no. So whatever deal might have been cut, would have to be substantial for there to be calm on the convention floor come August.

Ron Paul Suspends Primary Campaign, Continues Hunt for Delegates

    Posted on by IanCioffi

Ron Paul sent out a letter to supporters today announcing that he will no longer be campaigning in states that have yet to have their primaries.

“we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.”

    Full Letter:

As I reflect on our 2012 Presidential campaign, I am humbled by the supporters who have worked so hard and sacrificed so much. And I am so proud of what we have accomplished. We will not stop until we have restored what once made America the greatest country in human history.

This campaign fought hard and won electoral success that the talking heads and pundits never thought possible. But, this campaign is also about more than just the 2012 election. It has been part of a quest I began 40 years ago and that so many have joined. It is about the campaign for Liberty, which has taken a tremendous leap forward in this election and will continue to grow stronger in the future until we finally win.

Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.

Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have. I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.

I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved – become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions. I will be right there with you. In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned.

    For Liberty,

    Ron Paul

Ron Paul Wins Right to be Nominated on the Floor at GOP Convention in Tampa

    Posted on by IanCioffi

Barring a strange sequence of events (anything is possible with the way the GOP does things) Ron Paul won the right to be nominated on the GOP Convention floor with a win in Arizona this past weekend, according to Doug Wead.

So what now? Well you have Ron Paul saying he has no plans to disrupt the convention but I can’t imagine anyway around that. To NOT disrupt the convention, you’d need the Ron Paul delegates to support Romney. This is the one time where Ron Paul supporters part with Ron Paul. Even if Ron Paul begged them to play nice with Romney at the convention, they won’t.
